Frequently asked questions
The things people ask us most. If your question is not here, give us a call or send it through with your quote request.
Hiring and booking
You choose the tables and chairs you need and add the quantities to your hire list, then send it through with your event date and location. We check availability and send back a quote. Once you accept it, your booking is locked in and the equipment is delivered or collected on the agreed day. Everything comes back to us afterwards.
Weekends, school holidays and the run up to Christmas go first, so a few weeks ahead is sensible for those. Midweek and smaller orders are often fine at shorter notice. There is no minimum notice period, so if your plans have come together late it is still worth asking.
We hire across [Add service area]. If you are just outside it, ask anyway. We will let you know honestly whether we can get to you.
Yes. There is no package you have to take. Hire only chairs, only tables, or any mix of the two in whatever quantities suit your event.
Quantities are usually easy to change if the stock is free. Date changes depend on what else is booked that weekend, so the earlier you tell us the better the odds. If you need to cancel, let us know as soon as you can and we will sort it out with you. The terms that apply to your booking are set out on your quote before you accept it.
Delivery and collection
Delivery is priced per booking, based on where you are and how much you are hiring, and it is quoted up front so there are no surprises on the day. We agree a drop off window with you once the booking is confirmed.
Mention it in your quote request and we will confirm whether it suits what you are hiring, then give you the address and a time. Bear in mind a 6ft table is 183.5cm long, so it needs a decent sized vehicle with the seats down, and chairs take up more room than most people expect.
Yes. Where we deliver, we collect afterwards as well, and both are arranged when you accept the quote so you know the timing before the day. If your venue needs everything gone at a particular time, tell us and we will work to it.
We drop everything off and stack it where you want it. The tables and chairs fold out in seconds, so most people set up as they go. If you would like a hand getting it laid out, ask when you request your quote and we will let you know what we can do.
The equipment
Yes. Everything is cleaned and checked between hires, and anything damaged is repaired or pulled from the range rather than sent out.
Allow one chair per guest, plus a few spare for late arrivals and anyone who prefers to sit down for most of the event. If children are coming, count kids chairs separately from adult chairs.
As a guide, a 6ft trestle table seats about six to eight adults, roughly three per side, and a 4ft table seats about four. Full place settings, centrepieces and platters all reduce that, so allow extra room for a formal sit-down meal.
Have a wet weather plan before the day, whether that is a garage, a carport or moving indoors. Everything in the range copes with covered outdoor use, but keep it out of standing water and off soft ground where you can. If the forecast turns and you need to move your date, get in touch as early as possible and we will do what we can.
Everyday marks and spills are expected and we clean everything between hires anyway, so there is nothing to worry about there. If something gets broken or goes missing, just tell us at collection rather than leaving us to find it. We will let you know what it costs to repair or replace, and any charges are set out in the terms on your quote.
